Natural Sinus Infections Remedies

|

Sinusitis is technical term for the inflammation of the sinuses and nasal passages. Sinus infection generally causes pressure in the eyes, nose, cheeks as well as blinding headaches. Those who suffer from this condition are prone to coughs, fever, bad breath and nasal congestion accompanied with thick nasal secretions.
People suffering from sinusitis are prone to a lot of discomfort and they require instant remedy to relieve themselves of this problem. There are many prescription, otc and natural remedies that are available to a person who suffers from sinusitis. People allergic to certain ingredients present in prescription or over the counter medications can instead use natural remedies to cure their sinusitis problems. In order to get natural sinus infections remedies you should use the remedy that provides the fastest relief as well as the one that provides a long term protection.
Take a hot shower and breathe the steam (make sure to breathe through your nose). You can boil water and pour it in a container and inhale the steam by covering your head with a towel. This will loosen the excess mucous and help it drain. Use this inhalation method three to four times per day (for a better effect ad just a few drops of peppermint oil, lavender oil or eucalyptus oil to the hot water just before you start inhalation). You can also drink hot tea (some kind of herbal tea is best - green, mint or chamomile tea work best for me) and the "magical" chicken soup as an effective home remedy.
One of the better natural sinus infection remedies is garlic. If you can stand it drink garlic juice or eat it raw - place a large chunk of organic garlic on slice of bread and chew (bread will reduce the garlic scent and taste somewhat), this can however cause problems with your work colleagues or your partner, so use this method at night before you got to sleep. You can also dice the garlic and sprinkle the pieces of the garlic in a cup of hot water and then breathe in the steam. This should be done at least three times each day until the problem is cured.
